2012 Awards.
The WLA is pleased to announce the winner of the 2012 Commission Trophy for the Most Valuable Player in League Play. This years winner is Nick Rose of the Coquitlam Adanacs. Earlier announced as the winner of the Oustanding Goalkeeper award, Nick backstopped his team to a berth in the 2012 playoffs with a superb 7.53 GAA and a .825 SV%. He was instrumental in keeping the Adanacs in many games with his fine play.

August 9, 2012 2012 Maitland Trophy Winner - Cayle Ratcliff |

2012 WLA Awards.
The WLA is pleased to announce the 2012 winner of the Maitland Trophy. The Maitland trophy is awarded to a player on the basis of Outstanding Play, sportsmanship and assistance to Minor lacrosse. The winner is Cayle Ratcliff of the Nanaimo Timbermen. Cayle played in 18 games and scored 15 goals and assisted on 10 others for 25 points. His sportsmanship was demonstrated in that he spent a meagre 9 minutes in the penalty box. Cayle also teaches field lacrosse during the school year at Spectrum school in Victoria.

2012 WLA Awards.
The Gord Nicholson Trophy is awarded to the Best Defensive Player during regular season play. The 2012 recipient of the Gord Nicholson Trophy is Brett Mydske of the Langley Thunder. Brett was a force on defense for the 1st place Thunder. His commitment and leadership was instrumental in his teams success. He was a unanimous selection by the voters.

August 9, 2012 Norm Kowalyk Trophy- Executive of the Year - Casey Cook |

The Norm Kowalyk Trophy is awarded to the WLA Executive of the Year. The 2012 winner is WLA Commissioner Casey Cook. Casey's strong leadership and diplomacy has earned him this award as voted on by other WLA Executives.

August 8, 2012 Bob Johnson - Coach of the Year -2012 |

2012 Awards
The WLA is pleased to announce that the winner of the 2012 Dorothy Robertson Trophy for Coach of the Year is Bob Johnson of the Burnaby Lakers. Bob coached his young team to a 9 win 7 loss 2 tie season for 20 points and a berth in the WLA semi-finals.

2012 Awards.
The WLA is pleased to announce the 2012 winner of the Fred Wooster Trophy awarded annually to the WLA's Unsung Hero. The winner is Ian Poole of the Langley Thunder. Ian who is one of the finest face-off men in the league, also manages to scoop up many loose balls as well as playing a key role on defense for the Thunder. Ian's sparkling play has greatly contributed to his teams success in the 2012 season.

August 7, 2012 Cody Bremner - Rookie of the Year -2012 |

WLA 2012 Rookie of the Year.
The WLA is pleased to announce that Cody Bremner of the Nanaimo Timbermen is the winner of the Ed Bailey Trophy as the Rookie of the Year. Cody finished 4th in league scoring in his first year in the WLA, scoring 24 goals and assisting on 45 others, for a total of 69 points. Our congratulations go to Cody for this outstanding achievement.

The WLA is pleased to announce that the winner of the Leo Nicholson/Outstanding Goaltender of the 2012 WLA Season is Nick Rose of the Coquitlam Adanacs. Nick led the league with a sparkling 7.53 GAA (Goals against average) in 17 games. Congratulations Nick.

July 27, 2012 LANGLEY Thunder Win the Stan Shillington Trophy |
|
Congratulations to the Langley Thunder for winning the Stan Shillington Trophy. This trophy is emblematic of league regular season championship. The Thunder finished the regular season wth a 12-6 record and finished a league champion for the first time in the franchise's short history.
The regular season league championship will give the Thunder home advantage for the duration of the playoffs.

May 19, 2012 WLA Forms Webcast Network for 2012 Season |

The WLA, in partnership with PlayFullScreen has formed a webcast Network, allowing it to webcast all WLA games in the 2012 season. Fans from far away places can now watch their favorite players and teams as they do battle.
Nanaimo and Victoria fans can watch their teams play against opponents on the mainland, and, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Langley, Maple Ridge and New Westminster fans can watch their teams play on the Island.
To order, just go to the Pay Per View box just to the right of this notice. At the WLA we're excited about this next step in providing a better entertainment package for our fans.
